About Stainboy's Screenprinted Rock 'n' Roll Posters:

When you buy any Stainboy poster from this site you can definitely be sure of one thing: the poster is from a run that was actually used to promote the show or event. These are not 'commemorative' posters printed up to cash in after the show. Aside from designing and illustrating each poster by hand myself and then signing and numbering each edition that Diesel Fuel prints, I make damn sure they get posted. In most cases I put 'em up myself whenever possible. That's because I don't like fake "commemorative prints" and I'm sure you don't either. I grew up collecting posters and flyers from shows that I either went to or wished I could've seen. But not as a collector - I usually tacked 'em up on my walls or coated my band's rehearsal space with 'em. With their loud, retina-splitting colors and insane imagery, these posters were as powerful as the music and the shows that they promoted. And they were just as annoying, usually pissing off any disapproving types within view of the window or telephone poll they were posted on. While trying not to get too mushy about this shit, each one was a timeless document of rock n' roll history that I experienced first-hand. And they still are. In an era where everything in rock n' roll seems to be getting smaller - not to mention completely sanitized, these huge Day-Glo and b&w wonders have managed to survive and become more popular and annoying than ever. They're kinda' like the vinyl records of the advertising world - they try to kill 'em off and replace 'em with the new format but they just refuse to go away. This is what I want my work to represent. Everything here is the real deal.
