A
hail of bullets. Dive-bombing lawnmowers. Musclecars and femme
fatales with more curves than a runaway bus! Throw in a side
of cheesecake and welcome to the shadowy underworld of Stainboy.
Bring a bucket. Or a brick. Stainboy has survived a thousand
broken hearts from less than fifty shadowy women to become the
fine, ink-throwin' playboy of the Western World that he most
certainly is. His career really began to take off in highschool,
where he was a frequent guest in the Dean's office - busted for
Xeroxing illustrations of his teachers and authority figures
in 'uncomfortable' situations and posting them throughout the halls
in true punk rock
flyer
fashion. In the mid 80's, he began making posters, record/CD
packages, and merchandise designs out of necessity for his own
touring bands - namely a high-volume rock duo, Nutrajet. Trading
on his ability to kick out insane amounts of cool, hand-illustrated
posters fast, as well as bring a mean wrath down on unruly Kinko's
employees, it wasn't long before his bold, illustrative style
began attracting the attention of national rock promoters, managers
and bands. With a fluorescent blast of Day-Glo color and brash
imagery, Stainboy's rock 'n' roll posters immediately demand
attention. Violent, X-rated and yet always full of his nasty
wit and dark sense of humor. Stainboy's love of pop culture trash,
busty femme fatales, musclecars and classic cinema exploitation
saturates his work. Now published by Enemy Ink, Stainboy's dossier has
grown to include a diversity of work for clients such as the
House of Blues, Live Nation,
Fuse TV, Galpin Auto Sports, Club International magazine, Signatures
Network
and music venues around
the world. His work is featured in "The Art of Modern Rock" (Chronicle), "Swag
II: Rock Posters of The '90s and Beyond" (Abrams), and "Electric
Frankenstein: High Energy Punk Rock & Roll Poster Art" (Dark
Horse). In 2008, Dark
Horse books have just published Stainboy's
first book of collected works, Vicious
Intent: The Rock 'N' Roll Art and Exploitation of Stainboy Reinel. Unschooled, undisciplined and unstoppable,
Stainboy now carries out his deadly
assignments
and other secret services in sunny Orlando Florida while indulging
his tastes in beautiful women, fast cars, expensive restaurants,
and sharp, stylish clothing.
